GDS Contracts

Mark has 25 years’ experience in advising travel agencies and tour operators about the business and legal terms of GDS contracts. Because he constantly reviews the latest contract offers, he is in a position to know what the GDS vendors will probably offer and counter-offer throughout the negotiation process. His advice is always practical and usually results in major improvements of the initial offers from every vendor.

In the last several years, he has also given six seminars on GDS contract negotiations, concentrating on what is negotiable and what isn’t, as well as how to obtain the best offers.

Mark also provides legal advice to travel agencies that are having difficulty with their present GDS contract and may wish to terminate the contract. Mark advises about how to minimize or eliminate vendors’ inflated damages claims. When vendors sue for damages, Mark defends travel agencies in cooperation with local litigation counsel.

Several dozen of Mark’s Travel Weekly columns deal with GDS contract issues. You may research these by going to www.travelweekly.com. Register and do an “Advanced Search” using search under keywords “GDS” or “CRS” and author name “Pestronk”.
